FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Please reach us at oranearthcraft@gmail.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.

We use all plant material such as seasonal flowers, leaves, roots and barks. Often flower waste from the temples and kitchen waste that is rich in color also goes into the dye process.

The  most acidic natural occurring substance in nature is lemon. Lemon tends to bleach the color made from natural ingredient, indigo being an exception.

When you run the lemon test on any natural dyed fabric, the dye will partially come off  and will prove that the fabric has been processed only with natural material.

Before the fabric is dipped into the dye bath, it is pre-treated with tannins and mordants. We use natural tannins such as gallnut powder and gentle mineral salts that work impeccably for cellulose fiber and helps set the dye onto the fabric. To retain the colorfastness of your naturally dyed product, please refer to the wash and care details under the SHOP section on our website.

Any 'katran' or piece of fabric that is eliminated during the cutting process is collected and upcycled to create a brand new product. Our dye process doesn't involve the use of any heavy chemicals and is non-toxic, so the dye bath is safe enough to be disposed down the drain. We particularly empty it in our flower garden after using it several times. The dye waste is given to the local farmers to be used as natural manure.

Natural dyeing is a meticulous process, and we give ample time to dye and tailor your order. You can expect to receive your order within 7 business days within India and about 10-12 business days for international shipping.

We do accept bulk orders for certain styles. The details on bulk order availability are mentioned in the product description of each style. Please write to us or call to enquire for further discussion on placing the order.

We feel so excited to share ideas with other creative brands and work as a team. If you are interested in brand collaboration, write to us at: oranearthcraft@gmail.com and we would love to take it further from there.
